The Philippine Azkals turned back a gritty Nepal squad en route to a 3-0 win in a FIFA friendly in Doha, Qatar.

The 129th-ranked Azkals banked on a second half barrage to repeat their dominance of the 179th-placed Nepalese men, who they played earlier in the year at the same venue in Thomas Dooley's first win as the coach of the Philippine team.

Simon Greatwich opened the scoring for the Azkals in the 49th minute with his first international goal.

Phil Younghusband sealed the win with a penalty kick in the 90th minute, while Mark Hartmann converted another goal two minutes into stoppage time.

The Azkals are in their final stages of preparation for the AFF Suzuki Cup.
