UV pulled off a huge 77-74 come-from-behind upset win against NU at the resumption of the PCCL Elite 8 round at the Cebu City Coliseum.
The Green Lancers trailed the Bulldogs by as much as 17 with 5:30 left in the first half, 15-32.
But the Lancers, who finished third in the CESAFI, slowly crawled back and eventually led the UAAP champions Bulldogs, 71-67, with 3:33 remaining in the game.
NU scored five straight points to reclaim the lead, 72-71, with 1:10 left.
But UV closed the game on a 6-2 run to complete the stunner.
The Lancers gave Gary Cortes, who replaced Donbel Belano, his first win as their new coach.
