La Salle banked on a huge third quarter to beat San Beda, 61-56, for its third straight win in the PCCL Elite 8 round at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.
The Green Archers bucked a slow first quarter and tied the game in the second quarter and eventually led, 51-37, at the end of the third quarter.
The Red Lions, however, still put up a gallant effort and cut the lead to as low as four, 60-56, late in the fourth period.
Jeron Teng split from the line to increase the lead to five.
San Beda tried to inch closer, but the team misfired on its final offensive as its late rally fell short.
Teng finished with 20 points, nine rebounds, nine assists, and three blocks to lead La Salle, which can clinch a spot in the national finals with a win against FEU on Monday.
