NU finally barged to the win column after taking down UP in five sets, 21-25, 25-19, 23-25, 25-12, 15-9, in the nightcap of the UAAP women's volleyball matches at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The Lady Bulldogs, trailing 1-2 after three sets, banked on a huge fourth set to force the deciding set, which they would also win, and beat the Lady Maroons for their first victory after two straight-set defeats to the Ateneo Lady Eagles and the De La Salle Lady Spikers.
Jorelle Singh led NU with 20 points.
