Lady Punishers fall to Guam in historic friendly at home

Guam banked on an early blitz to turn back the Philippines, 58-6, in the first women's American football game ever played in the Philippines.

In an international friendly held at the ASCOM Football Field in Taguig City, the Gridiron Divas scored the game's first two touchdowns, the latter off an interception.

The Lady Punishers, who made their international debut at home, made a breakthrough touchdown on the next play.

The Guamanians, however, ended the first quarter with two more touchdowns to go up, 29-6.

The Divas would hold on despite the Lady Punishers tightening up on their defense, limiting the visitors to 29 the rest of the way.
