NU pulled off a stunning 3-1 win over defending champion FEU in their UAAP men's football clash at the FEU-Diliman pitch in Quezon City.

Paolo Salenga scored a brace as the Bulldogs capitalized on the absence of the Tamaraws' striker Nicolas Ferrer and defender Reymart Cubon due to suspensions to bounce back from a 0-1 defeat to the UP Fighting Maroons.

Salenga opened the scoring in the third minute with what would be the season's second fastest goal scored and converted a spot kick in the 54th minute.

FEU leveled on the 39th minute courtesy of Audie Menzi before NU regained the upper hand with Patrick Valenzuela finding the back of the net with two minutes left before halftime.

The result forced a three-way tie between NU, FEU, and UP for third place with seven points off two wins, one draw, and one loss each.
