Bibiano Fernandes once again imposed his dominance in the One FC bantamweight division by beating Kim Dae-Hwan for the promotion's bantamweight championship in the main event of the Warrior's Way fight card at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
Fernandes succeeded in his title defense by getting a rear naked choke on Kim, who clinched a shot at the One FC title by beating Kevin Belingon in a "grand prix" tournament, in the second round of the bout scheduled for five.
Things got feisty early on as Kim dealt an illegal strike to Fernandes in the first round, prompting referee Yuji Shimada to book the Korean for the infraction.
The Brazilian sensation, however, became more aggressive after the strike to the back of his head and finished Round 1 on a solid note.
Fernandes got a huge opportunity of stopping Kim when the champion took down the challenger midway into Round 2.
Kim tried to get out of the grapple hold, but Fernandes saw an opening and forced the submission.
Fernandes improved to 16-3 and is now 4-0 in the Philippine legs of the One FC calendar, his first via stoppage.
