Ginebra bounces back with big win versus league-leading Alaska

Ginebra needed a huge push late in the third quarter and pulled away in the fourth to snap a three-game slide against Alaska, 101-92, in the nightcap of the PBA games at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

Down by seven, 55-62, midway through the third quarter, the Gin Kings ended the period on an 18-7 run to take a 73-69 advantage.

Ginebra extended the gap to as much as 11 midway through the fourth and never let Alaska trim it lower than seven.

L.A. Tenorio took over for the Gin Kings with 20 points.

Calvin Abueva, on the other hand, scored a game-high 24 for the Aces, who despite losing for just the second time this Philippine Cup slipped to second place.
