A few hours after the PBA gave the go-signal to the Sol Mercado-Denok Miranda trade, Commissioner Chito Salud retracted and instead approved another swap offer for Mercado.

In a rare change of heart, Salud scrapped the Miranda-Mercado transfer and turned to a deal that involved GlobalPort's Alex Cabagnot.

The commissioner, according to the league's official release, found the Mercado-Miranda deal imbalanced.

Now, Cabagnot will make a homecoming at the San Miguel camp, and so will Mercado, who last played for GlobalPort.

Cabagnot and Mercado actually ended up at GlobalPort and San Miguel respectively due to a trade made last February.

Also, two future second round picks will be shipped to the Batang Pier.
