"Ruby" forces postponement of crucial Barako-Purefoods match

By Dugout Philippines

The expected storm to be brought about by super typhoon "Ruby" in Dipolog City has forced the PBA to cancel the scheduled game between the Barako Bull Energy and the Purefoods Star Hotshots there.

In the official release made by Commisioner Chito Salud, the designation of Zamboanga Del Norte as a critical province led to the decision.

"The PBA will set another game in Dipolog City this season as soon as its playing schedule permits and wishes the people and basketball fans of the entire province of Zamboanga del Norte the best of health, safety and security in the wake of the coming typhoon," Salud said at the end of his statement.

The Energy-Hotshots showdown, which is critical for both clubs, will be moved to a later date in a Metro Manila venue.

The further details will be announced soon.

Purefoods, which lost to Talk 'n Text on Wednesday, looks to stay alive in the hunt for a twice-to-beat advantage come the quarterfinals.

Barako, on the other hand, looks to solidify its record for a better ranking in the next round.
