SMB enters finals after sweeping TNT

By Dugout Philippines

San Miguel booked the first PBA Philippine Cup Finals ticket after completing a 4-0 semifinal sweep against Talk 'n Text with a 100-87 Game 4 win at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

The Beermen led the Tropang Texters from wire to wire to enter to a championship series for the first time since the 2013 Governors' Cup.

Junemar Fajardo scored 28 points to spearhead San Miguel, which will now aim to end a four-year title drought and a 14-year wait for a Philippine Cup pennant.

Fajardo's Gilas teammate Jimmy Alapag led Talk 'n Text with 17 markers.

The Beermen will await the winners of the other semifinal affair between the Rain Or Shine Elasto Painters and the Alaska Aces.

Both ROS and Alaska are knotted at two wins apiece in their series, and the other finalist could only be known by as soon as January 4.

Game 5 is scheduled tomorrow night at the same venue.
