UAAP stays with ABS-CBN after partnership renewed

By Ivan Saldajeno

The country's hottest collegiate sports league remains a Kapamilya.

The UAAP and ABS-CBN forged another five-year partnership after both parties signed the contract extension at the Sofitel Philippine Plaza.

ABS-CBN President Charo Santos-Concio and current UAAP President Carmelita Mateo of host school UE led the contract-signing.

In the new deal which will begin as UP takes over as the league's host next season, ABS-CBN will have a full commitment to airing the games in the other sports aside from the usual live broadcasts in basketball, volleyball, and football.

The games will be broadcast anew on ABS-CBN Sports and Action 23, Balls HD (Sky Cable 167) with some games to be aired on ABS-CBN 2.
