The UP Lady Maroons notched a big win against the UST Tigresses, 26-24, 23-25, 25-20, 25-17, in their UAAP women's volleyball clash at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan City.
Despite a late Set 2 meltdown where the Lady Maroons lost a 23-19 lead, they bounced back in the third set, scoring their 24th point to stop another Tigresses' run.
UP sealed the win by unleashing its own late run in the clinching fourth set to pull away for good.
Nicole Tiamzon led the Lady Maroons with 19 points, while Kathy Bersola added 16.
E.J. Laure also had 19 for the Tigresses, but she had to carry the fight in the last two sets.
