NU closed its UAAP women's volleyball first round campaign on a high note with a 25-17, 25-16, 22-25, 25-19 win against Adamson at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.
The Lady Bulldogs, who needed five sets before escaping the UST Tigresses in their last game, looked to cruise to a sweep of the Lady Falcons after taking the first two sets.
But the Lady Falcons tried to mount a comeback and stole the third set.
NU made sure in the fourth set and moved up to solo third place at 4-3, giving new coach Roger Gorayeb his second straight win in his UAAP comeback.
Jaja Santiago led the Lady Bulldogs with 26 points, while Myla Pablo added 15.
Amanda Villanueva had a team-high 14 for the Lady Falcons, who slipped to 3-4.
