Unbeaten Ateneo tackles La Salle-Zobel as second round action in the UAAP Season 77 juniors basketball tournament opens today at the Blue Eagle Gym.
The Blue Eaglets gun for a eighth straight win in their 3 P.M. duel with the Junior Archers.
In other matches, defending champion National University clashes with Far Eastern University-Diliman at 1 P.M., Adamson battles UP Integrated School at 11 A.M, while University of Santo Tomas takes on University of the East at 9 A.M.
The Bullpups finished second with a 6-1 record, while the Junior Archers are running third with a 5-2 slate.
Ateneo swept the first round with a 66-64 win over NU before the Christmas break, ending the Bullpups’ amazing 22-game winning run.
Leading MVP contender Mike Nieto and his twin brother Matthew and Jolo Mendoza will be the vital cogs for the Eaglets.
