The UAAP will take a week-long break as everyone will welcome Pope Francis on January 15.
The women's volleyball tournament will not play games on January 14, 17, and 18.
The first round will culminate with the anticipated finals rematch between Ateneo and La Salle at the Mall of Asia Arena on January 11.
Action will resume with the start of the second round on January 21.
The football tournaments will also take a breather during the Papal visit and will also resume games on January 21 with a four-game schedule at the FEU-Diliman and Ateneo's Moro Lorenzo pitches.
The games scheduled on January 14, however, will push through as scheduled.
The chess tournament, which is set to begin during the weekend, will only have its third round to be played after Pope Francis' visit.
The first two rounds will push through on January 10 and 11 at the Henry Sy Sr. Building inside La Salle's campus.
