FEU and UP collide for the first time since meeting in the championship round of last year's UAAP men's football tournament in the final match of the first round at the FEU Diliman Football Field in Quezon City.
Tied together with NU in first place, the winner of the UP-FEU game will solely remain on top of the league table midway into the eliminations.
The Fighting Maroons, however, can still finish at number one even if they draw with the Tamaraws as the runners-up last season lead on goal difference.
The Tamaraws look to repeat their dominance over the Maroons in last year's finals in their 3 p.m. match-up.
In the curtain-raiser at 1 p.m., La Salle and UST meet for a chance to bolster their respective bids for the Final Four.
