Jinggoy Valmayor scored all of UP's goals to beat FEU, 3-1, in their UAAP football finals rematch at the FEU Diliman Football Field in Quezon City.
Valmayor, who missed last year's finals after serving a two-match ban, completed the hat trick to put UP on top of the league table with 16 points at the end of the first round.
Valmayor opened the scoring at the 14th minute, silencing the FEU crowd.
Jan-Jan Melliza, however, equalized in the 40th minute to put the Tamaraws back in the game.
Valmayor then scored the go-ahead goal for the Fighting Maroons in the 64th minute.
He then sealed the win with three minutes left in regulation by scoring a penalty.
