With the recent events that took place in Mindano, especially the killing of 44 policemen during a shootout with rebel forces, the PBA decided not to hold the scheduled Alaska-NLEX game in Polomolok, South Cotabato.
“In light of the recent encounter between police commando and separatist forces in Maguindanao, as well as the heightened security risks and threats posed by continuing insurgent activities in proximate areas, the Office of the Commissioner deems it prudent to cancel the PBA game scheduled in South Cotabato on February 7, 2015,” said Commissioner Chito Salud in an official statement.
The match between the Aces and the Road Warriors will still be played as scheduled on Saturday, but it will be held at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan City. Tipoff is at 5 P.M.
