QUEZON CITY--Denzel Bowles, the longtime Commissioner's Cup import of Purefoods, has been given the green light to play in this year's tournament.

Bowles, who steered the franchise to the 2012 title, passed the 6-9 height requirement set for the top eight clubs in the Philippine Cup as he was measured at the PBA office on Saturday at 6-8 13/16 inches. Officials from some other teams witnessed the said height measurement.

He will likely join the Hotshots in their Sunday game against the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Bowles, coming from a CBA stint with the Jilin Tigers, arrived in the Philippines at 4 a.m. and immediately joined the Purefoods practice at the Ronac Gym in San Juan City.

The Purefoods-Ginebra match, known as the "Manila Clasico" is set for a 5:30 p.m. tip-off right after the GlobalPort-Blackwater game at 3 p.m.
