Talk 'n Text needed a huge fourth quarter rally before escaping Blackwater, 88-78, at the resumption of the PBA Commissioner's Cup at the Alonte Sports Center in Binan City.
The Tropang Texters outscored the Elites, 28-12, in the final frame to stave off an upset bid by the latter, who have yet to win in their debut season.
The win also spoiled the return of former Gilas Pilipinas beanpole Marcus Douthit, who replaced Chris Charles as the Elites' import.
Richard Howell and Jayson Castro combined for 51 points for Talk 'n Text.
Brian Faundo led Blackwater with 19 points, while Douthit added 14.
