Ginebra barged to the win column of the PBA Commissioner's Cup with a 95-82 win against surprisingly struggling San Miguel at the Smart Araneta Coliseum in Quezon City.
The Gin Kings nearly lost a double-digit lead built in the second quarter as the Beermen crawled back to take a 63-62 lead in the third.
Ginebra regrouped and retook the advantage for good as its lead even ballooned to 16 with over a minute left.
Michael Dunigan led the Gin Kings, who came from back-to-back losses, with 29 points, while Greg Slaughter added 18.
Ronald Roberts made a game-high 32 points, but his star teammates Junemar Fajardo and Arwind Santos were limited to a combined 15 as the Beermen, who won the Philippine Cup last month, are now 0-2 down in the standings.
