Hot squads UST, La Salle collide

UST is on a roll right now, and La Salle coach Ramil De Jesus is very aware of it especially with the way his team took on NU.

"UST is peaking right now. So ganoon, kailangang paghandaan, hindi puwede yung ganito ang kondisyon namin," De Jesus said.

On the other hand, UST coach Odjie Mamon wants to use the La Salle game if his team is for real now.

"Maga-gauge yung improvement namin against La Salle, like on how we can keep them up lalo na sa endgame," said Mamon.

UST's resurgence will be put to a test as it takes on La Salle in their UAAP women's volleyball match at the FilOil Flying V Arena in San Juan.

Winners of four straight games, the Tigresses bounced back from a shaky 1-4 start and moved to third place. Looking to pull away from a logjam for the remaining Final Four slots, they will try to extend their streak against another streaking team, the Lady Spikers.

The Lady Spikers, who won three straight, will try to book the second twice-to-beat playoff bonus against the Tigresses in their 4 P.M encounter.

The first team with the twice-to-beat edge, Ateneo, will take on FEU in the curtain-raiser at 2 P.M.

The Lady Eagles, who won ten straight matches, will try to inch closer to a sweep of the elimination round. They, however, might have to do it without Bea De Leon.

The star rookie broke her index finger during practice on Monday and will likely miss the rest of the eliminations.

On the other hand, the Lady Tamaraws will try to move to solo fourth and get out of a four-way tie with Adamson, UP, and NU in the wildcard race.
