QUEZON CITY--Make it a double victory for NU.
Over an hour after their male counterparts clinched the last finals seat, the Lady Bulldogs moved on to the next phase of the women's volleyball stepladder playoffs after beating the FEU Lady Tamaraws, 25-13, 25-17, 25-27, 25-23, in the Saturday nightcap at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.
NU almost squandered a 2-0 lead as FEU finally got into form in the third set and most of the fourth set. NU held on as Myla Pablo and Jaja Santiago provided timely spikes late in Set 4.
Pablo and Santiago combined for 42 points for the Lady Bulldogs, who will next face the De La Salle Lady Spikers, a familiar playoff foe for Coach Roger Gorayeb, who steered the Ateneo Lady Eagles to two finals appearance, both against the Lady Spikers.
La Salle, however, will hold a twice-to-beat advantage after finishing second in the eliminations.
Bernadette led the Lady Tams with 16 markers.
