The one to take charge of coaching the UP Fighting Maroons basketball team for UAAP Season 78, which the school will host, could be introduced very soon.
Team manager Dan Palami said that the search committee for the new UP coach is set to complete its task late February, and an announcement could be made by the month's end.
"We're going to fast track the search process," Palami told a group of reporters during the preseason launch of professional football club Global, where he is the president.
He also mentioned that five coaches are now in the short list, but he opted not to name the five.
Palami added, "I'll be meeting with the search committee on Thursday and with [Chancellor Michael Tan] on Friday."
