FEU has survived the first round of the stepladder playoffs and will now face NU next. Here are my two cents on this playoff encounter.
What Now: Both teams are actually red hot entering their battle at the Smart Araneta Coliseum. The Lady Bulldogs won six of their last nine games, all under the tutelage of new coach Roger Gorayeb. On the other hand, the Lady Tamaraws, following Wednesday night's win against the UST Tigresses, won their last three, all do-or-die matches.
Key Match-Up: Jaja Santiago vs. Gen Casugod-With Gen Casugod rolling last Wednesday, might as well match her up with NU's own tower Jaja Santiago. What I like about Casugod is that while she has the height, she can actually pull off those running spikes. But up next for her would be the 6-5 Santiago, who like her older sister Dindin is also a great attacker.
Other Stats: Both teams split their elimination meetings, which will make their match the decider. Do expect both teams to go all out. Also watch out if FEU can close it out sooner this time as the team almost squandered a 2-0 lead before banking on an impressive fifth set to eliminate UST.
