QUEZON CITY--Expect more fireworks come Chinese New Year as UP and La Salle clash in a pivotal UAAP soccer showdown at the FEU-Diliman Football Field.
Both the Fighting Maroons and the Green Booters look to take the provisional lead in their Matchday 13 meeting at 3 p.m.
UP is running second to FEU in the league table, only lagging behind on goal difference, while La Salle, despite not conceding a loss 12 games into the season, is a full point behind the two aforementioned squads. All the three teams are jockeying for position come the newly reformatted knockout playoffs similar to that of the Smart-PFF Club Championship held last month.
UP's Jinggoy Valmayor will try to add to his scoring haul as he is chasing FEU's Eric Giganto for the best striker award.
Also-ran teams Adamson and UE will collide in the first match at 1 p.m.
