AMA gives LiverMarin rude D-League welcome

By Ivan Saldajeno

PASIG--When the PBA D-League announced that LiverMarin-San Sebastian will play its debut against AMA, many probably expected the NCAA team to easily handle the NAASCU side.

The result was the exact opposite.

The Titans pulled off an 89-81 shocker against the Stags in the first game of the PBA D-League Foundation Cup at the Ynares Sports Arena on Thursday.

AMA led from the get-go and led by as much as 18 in some points of the game.

LiverMarin, however, made a late rally led by Fritz Laude to cut the lead to five, 84-79.

A Jay-R Taganas layup and late charities helped the Titans take their first win in the season-ending conference.

Taganas had a monster game, finishing with 19 points, 19 rebounds, and three steals, while Jerramy King led AMA with 24 points, eight rebounds, six assists, and two steals while only committing only one turnover.

Leo De Vera and Choi Ignacio each had 14 markers and seven boards for LiverMarin.
