MANAMA--Bahrain shook off a painful loss to Colombia last week after downing the Philippines, 2-1, in a FIFA international friendly on Tuesday (Philippine Time).
Faouzi Aaish drew first blood for the host squad as he retrieved the ball off a corner kick scramble and slotted the ball past Roland Muller in the 28th minute.
Two minutes later, Abdulla Yaser sent a long free kick from the right wing past the Azkals' wall and Muller to put Bahrain up by two.
Manny Ott kept the Azkals in the match as he scored a 61st minute goal, but the Bahrainis held on to the win that erased the memories of a 0-6 defeat to Colombia on Friday.
Both teams are using the match as part of their preparations for the FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
