MANILA--Rain Or Shine big man Beau Belga made a public apology regarding the late game incidents in a Sunday night PBA match against Ginebra.
In an interview with Cesca Litton and Mico Halili in the late night CNN Philippines program Sports Desk on Tuesday, the burly 6-6 enforcer said, "Sa lahat ng fans ng PBA, gusto kong mag-sorry sa inakto ko nung game noong Sunday. Ako lang talaga yung player na sobrang competitive. Hindi ako yung basta-basta susuko."
He further said that Commissioner Chito Salud reminded him of the importance of the fans, whether they are unruly or not, in the game.
"Pina-realize sa akin ni Commissioner na kailangan naming pahalagahan ang mga fans, which is yung mali ko," Belga continued.
Belga vent ire at some Ginebra fans who expressed their disgust on his play by throwing a bottle at him. The venue officials sent the said fans home after the incident.
He also responded with the boos of the Ginebra fans by doing the death gesture and the "Suck it!" gesture made famous by the WWE.
For his response to the crowd jeers, Belga was fined PHP40 thousand. He also incurred a PHP30 thousand sanction for separate elbowing incidents late in the match won by the Elasto Painters.
