MANILA--Ceres came back to domestic pro league play on a high note with a 3-0 rout of Pachanga in their UFL clash at the Rizal Memorial Stadium on Sunday.
In the nightcap of a rare triple-header at the said pitch that started with the UAAP men's football Final Four earlier in the day, Ceres, which was fresh from a heartbreaking AFC Cup qualifying defeat against Maziya at the latter's home turf in Maldives, dominated the lone professional game scheduled from start to finish.
Patrick Reichelt opened the scoring in the 22nd minute as he headed the goal in from an Oladipo Olunaiya assist.
Ceres, however, only duplicated in the 80th minute as Manny Ott struck a goal off a cross. Substitute Angelo Marasigan sealed the win as he followed up Reichelt's missed attempt.
Ceres moved to six points, keeping in step with fellow strongholds Global, Kaya, Loyola, and Stallion.
Ceres can go to provisional second on Tuesday as it will face Army.
