MANILA--Cha Soung-Young has reportedly left Ceres as its head coach.

According to Sun Star, the Korean mentor will relinquish his role as the UFL club's chief tactician and technical director after almost three years. The publication added that Cha returned to his home country to further enhance his coaching skills.

On his Facebook post, Cha thanked the organization headed by owner Leo Yanson. He also posed a challenge to his squad led by current national team players Patrick Reichelt, Jeffrey Christaens, and Juani Guirado.

"To all Ceres FC players, always remember that nobody is stronger than the team. Don’t give up but, create a new history in Philippine football,” Cha said.

Cha's departure came at the heels of Ceres' early AFC Cup exit. It also essentially left Ali Go to be on his lonesome as the coach-manager.

Ceres currently is in second place in the UFL table with nine points and a perfect 3-0-0 card.
