MANILA--Ahead of a trip to Malaysia for an AFC Cup outing Wednesday, Global needed a confidence booster Saturday night against arch rival Kaya. Global thought it was on the right track after a pretty good first half.

Louis Clark just happened in the second half, though.

Clark took over in the second half as he completed a brace to give Kaya a 2-0 win against Global in the first UFL "Clasico" game of the season at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.

Kaya also got a a sigh of relief as the referee nullified an early goal by Izo Elhabib.

In the 12th minute, Elhabib thought he took advantage of Nick O'Donnell's not-so-impressive save as he got the ball and struck it to the goal, but the referee slapped an offside call to Elhabib instead.

Elhabib also got two sorry misses later in the first half as both his shots just hit the crossbar.

Clark, on the other hand, got past the Global defense and scored off a header in the 51st minute. He followed with a stoppage time strike.

The loss dealt Global a blow morale-wise as the club battles Pahang on the road in the AFC Cup. Global, however, remains on top of the team standings despite its lead against Kaya, Ceres, and Loyola was chopped to just one point. Kaya and Ceres will clash next Saturday.
