MANILA--Reigning ISAA champion TIP pulled off a huge upset against NCAA squad CSB with a 69-68 win to take the second EDQ Cup at the TIP Gym recently.
The Engineers banked on a stifling clutch defense to dethrone the Blazers, who won the title in the pre-season tournament named after TIP founder Demetrio Quirino.
Raymond Alvarado powered TIP to the championship, earning him the MVP honor. He was joined by fellow Engineers Kimley Medina and Carlo Gomez in the Mythical Five together with San Beda Red Lion Dan Sara and CSB Blazers Fons Saavedra and Jonathan Grey.
FEU, NU, UST, UE, and Mapua also participated in the invitational tournament.
