PASIG--With host school UP setting the start of the UAAP season at a later date on September 5, the teams got a longer time to prepare.
And the organizers of the FilOil Flying V Preseason Premier Cup gave the seven participating UAAP teams and even the teams from the other leagues help in choosing the ones they will line up in the end.
Tournament Director Joey Guillermo revealed on Thursday that he allowed each of the 16 participants to enlist 20 players with 18 allowed to suit up per game.
"[The UAAP teams] anticipate na mas bugbugan sila ngayon kasi they still have time. That's why they requested to have 20 players in the lineup; they're still in the process of recruiting--to give more chances to the others," he said.
However, after their respective third games, all the teams are requested to submit the final list of the players they will field in for the rest of the tournament.
