Galang out for finals after tearing ACL, MCL

By Ivan Saldajeno

MANILA--It seems like Ara Galang will have to wait until next year before she can return to competitive volleyball.

A source said that the La Salle skipper suffered various left knee injuries during the bad fall she had late in her team's UAAP semifinal win against NU on Saturday.

The source said that Galang had a tear in her ACL, MCL, and meniscus along with a big bone bruise.

He added that she will undergo surgery, and recovery may last for about eight months, effectively making her unavailable for the championship series against Ateneo starting on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Galang got discharged from the Makati Medical Center and, along with her family, returned to her condo unit near the La Salle campus late Saturday night.

Dugout Philippines tried to reach out to her, but she declined.
