LUCENA--Ginebra barged to the PBA Commissioner's Cup playoffs with a 96-81 blowout win against GlobalPort at the Quezon Convention Center on Saturday night.
The Gin Kings led the Batang Pier from wire to wire, stretching the lead to as much as 24, to bounce back from two heartbreaking defeats that almost put their playoff hopes in peril.
Greg Slaughter and Mike Dunigan each scored 22 points for Ginebra, whose quarterfinal seeding will depend on its match against Alaska on Wednesday.
Still missing top overall pick Stanley Pringle, GlobalPort, now 0-2 with Derrick Character as import, will now need to beat San Miguel also on Wednesday to clinch a spot in the playoffs.
