Global holds Pahang to goalless draw

KUANTAN--Global shocked the crowd at the Darul Makmur Stadium when it forced a 0-0 draw against Pahang in their AFC Cup match Wednesday night.

Playing without key players due to injuries, Global's defense held on despite a late second half charge by Pahang to split the point, making a splash despite losing two of its last three matches in all competitions including a 1-6 beating by South China two weeks ago at home.

Jun Badelic, starting for an injured Patrick Deyto, made a strong case as he grabbed huge saves to frustrate Pahang's offense.

However, Global will have to play with another man down in its next AFC Cup assignment as Amani Aguinaldo was sent off at stoppage time, thus earning an automatic one-game ban.
