MANDALUYONG--J-Boy Gob will finish his education where he started it.
The former La Salle Greenhills standout revealed to the press on Sunday that he will join the De La Salle Green Archers.
Gob, who won co-MVP honor during the Slam Rising Stars Classic at the Gatorade Hoops Center, explained, "La Sallista kasi ako since kinder. Parang iyan yung pinaka-natural course sa akin.... Malapit sa puso ko ang La Salle."
However, when asked about the possibility of having limited playing time for a team loaded with big men, the 6-5 center said it is not a concern for him.
"Iniisip ko na isang araw malalagpasan ko rin [ang magiging role ko this year]--na ako naman yung ikakatakot ng mga papasok din," Gob continued.
He admitted, though, "Marami pa along kakaining bigas," specifically saying that he will work on being a well-rounded player.
Still, he said, "Blessed po ako na makasali sa training nila."
He also added that he draws inspiration from his father, who in spite of not playing in a big league was a hardworking player back then.
