MANILA--Ginebra might be set for another organizational revamp.
A report from the Philippine Star's Nelson Beltran on Monday said that the Gin Kings will tap the services of Frankie Lim as the new head coach, replacing Ato Agustin.
Citing a club source, Ginebra will be making the formal announcement of the coaching change when the team returns to practice next Monday.
Once made official publicly, Lim, once a champion coach with San Beda in the NCAA, will become the Gin Kings' third different mentor this season as Agustin took over from Jeffrey Cariaso prior to the start of the Commissioner's Cup. Cariaso coached for two conferences with them before Agustin stepped in.
Lim steered the Red Lions to a pair of back-to-back league titles from 2007 to 2011. Ironically, it was Agustin who won the NCAA championship in between the two two-peat streaks when his San Sebastian Golden Stags beat the Red Lions in the 2009 Finals.
