MANILA--Even without the hero of the PFF-Smart Club Championship final, Loyola proved it still has what it takes to beat Global.
Despite losing Matthew Hartmann early to the UFL season, Loyola handed Global a second straight loss in all competitions with a 1-0 victory in their league clash Saturday night at the Rizal Memorial Stadium.
Phil Younghusband scored the marginal goal in the 28th minute as Loyola won for the second straight time against Global dating back to last January's championship game.
On the other hand, Global failed to bounce back from a Wednesday night defeat to Yadanarbon in their AFC Cup tiff in Myanmar.
