PARAÑAQUE--The largest Asian MMA promotion has a new Philippine partner.
One Fighting Championship, which is now simply known as One Championship, announced on Tuesday that it partnered with the newly opened City of Dreams casino complex. The announcement was made at the said casino's ballroom.
One Championship vice president Rich Franklin and City of Dreams vice president for marketing Michael Quek graced the press conference, which formalized the said partnership.
The partnership announcement happened ahead of One Championship's Philippine event on April 24 entitled "Valor of Champions", where Ben Askren will stake his welterweight championship belt against Luis Santos.
"The partnership of One and City of Dreams Manila combines the largest sports media property in Asia with the best in entertainment, gaming, and luxury accommodations," said One Championship president Victor Cui. "We expect to achieve great things with City of Dreams."
To highlight the new partnership, City of Dreams will be giving away up to PHP12 million in prizes just by guessing who among Askren and Santos will walk away from the main event with the One Championship belt.
The voting is ongoing and will end on April 24 right before fight night.
