PASAY--In a battle between ex-Queen Bulldogs, Dindin Manabat prevailed over Myla Pablo.

Manabat and Pablo each scored 13 points, but Manabat's Petron beat Pablo's Philips in straight sets, 25-16, 25-18, 25-23, in the nightcap of the PLDT Home Ultera-PSL All-Filipino Conference opening festivities at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.

The Blaze Spikers banked on a team effort to clinch the win even though the Lady Slammers made the game interesting in the third set thanks to Pablo.

Frances Molina added seven markers for Petron, the 2014 Grand Prix champion and favorite to win this conference.

Desiree Dadang and Michele Gumabao each added eight for Philips, which committed 39 errors overall in its league debut.

Number one pick Iris Tolenada had 14 excellent sets in her first SuperLiga match.
