ROS clinches top seed with blowout win against Kia

QUEZON CITY--Rain Or Shine nailed the first twice-to-beat advantage in the PBA Commissioner's Cup quarterfinals with a 119-99 win against Kia at the Smart Araneta Coliseum on Sunday.

In the process, the team, which holds the tiebreaker over Purefoods and Talk 'n Text, finished its elimination round campaign at the top of the team standings. Talk 'n Text could clinch the second seed and the other twice-to-beat edge if it beats Alaska in the game being played as of press time.

The Elasto Painters led by as much as 27 late in the second quarter before weathering a Carnival rally to clinch the win.

Wayne Chism scored 28 markers for Rain Or Shine, which scored 41 points in the second quarter and 71 in the entire first half.

P.J. Ramos had another monster game in a losing effort for Kia as he tallied 45 points.
