ROS rallies to stun Ginebra

PASAY--Rain Or Shine fought back from as much as 17 points down and a late eight-point deficit to beat Ginebra, 82-79, in the nightcap of the PBA Commissioner's Cup doubleheader Sunday at the Cuneta Astrodome.

The Elasto Painters trailed, 25-42, midway into the second quarter but came back and even led by four, 68-64, early in the fourth.

The Gin Kings regained control of the game and stretched their lead to eight, 79-71, with four minutes left.

But Rain Or Shine closed the game with 11 straight points as Ginebra committed late turnovers that costed the latter the match.

Wayne Chism led the Elasto Painters with 28 points, while Beau Belga, the subject of a heated moment involving pro-Ginebra fans late in the game, added 11.

Mike Dunigan scored 24 for the Gin Kings, who fell to a three-way tie with the Kia Carnival and the Barako Bull Energy at eighth place.
