SAN JUAN, MM--Shopinas had to work in the final two sets before taking the 25-19, 26-24, 29-27 win against Philips in a PLDT Home Ultera-PSL All-Filipino Conference game on Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Arena.
After a smooth sailing in Set 1, the Lady Clickers gave up a deuce before scoring the last two points of Set 2.
The Lady Slammers continued to give a fight as they led for most of the third set, but the Lady Clickers regained their form and forcing the deuce.
Philips still had a shot at stealing the set after leading, 26-25, but Shopinas tied the set once more and finally held on after scoring two straight.
The Lady Clickers leaned on a balanced team effort as ten players scored for them led by Paneng Mercado and Cha Cruz, who each had nine points.
Their fellow ex-La Salle Lady Spiker, Michele Gumabao, scored a game-high 13 markers for the Lady Slammers, who dropped their second straight match.
