MANILA--With Kaya's starting goalkeeper Nick O'Donnell getting a call-up for the U-23 Azkals, Coach Adam Reekie has to bank on Matt Silva for now.
And Reekie said the rookie has responded pretty well two matches into the latter's professional career.
"Matt has been a good backup so far. He deserves his chance. He did very well today as he did [against Socceroo last Tuesday]," Reekie said on Silva's Saturday night performance.
The Kaya mentor continued, "It's good for us to have two keepers we can rely on."
So why did Silva concede two goals early into the match won by Kaya?
"You got to give credit to Pachanga. [The club made] great goals," Reekie answered.
He later admitted, "We were sloppy in the first half.
However, Reekie lauded his team for the second half surge.
"The players reacted well, came out, and did the job," he said.
