PARAÑAQUE--The Philippine MMA's newest superstar is now with Asia's biggest promotion.
Mark Striegl announced on Tuesday that he will join One Championship after signing an exclusive contract.
"I can't wait to fight for One FC," Striegl told Dugout Philippines.
Striegl, however, admitted that he finds One Championship a "greener pasture" than the PXC, where he began carving a name for himself internationally.
"PXC, of course, is a great promotion, but One FC is the largest promotion in Asia. The atmosphere is electric for the fights," he continued.
Still, he said that his move to the Singapore-based promotion from the Guam-based league was perfectly timed.
Striegl said, "The timing was just great. The timing was just right, so it made sense."
Before transferring to One Championship, Striegl, whose last fight in the PXC was a loss to Kim Jang-Yong for the featherweight title in 2013, fought in Malaysia last year, where he won by submission.
About his One Championship debut against Casey Suire at "Valor of Champion" on April 24 at the Mall of Asia Arena, where he had experience fighting there because of his time with the URCC, Striegl said, "I can't wait to be there in the flesh to feel the energy from a live, sold-out arena."
