QUEZON CITY--Jay-R Taganas showed he can be effective offensively a game after going for a PBA D-League record 29 rebounds as he knocked down the go-ahead basket to push AMA to a 76-74 win against Tanduay Light in their Foundation Cup meeting Monday at the JCSGO Gym.
Taganas received the pass from Oda Tampus and nailed a short jumper with 2.2 seconds left as the Titans completed a comeback from an early 16-point deficit to move up to a 2-1 record.
Taganas only grabbed 11 boards this time but he scored 17 points all in all including the marginal basket. Dexter Maiquez also had a double-double as he chipped in 14 points and ten rebounds.
Roi Sumang led the Rhum Masters, who fell to 1-2, with 13 markers.
