PASAY--Ivan Johnson and Jayson Castro clicked from the outside as Talk 'n Text clinched the first PBA Commissioner's Cup semifinal seat with a 127-97 rout of Barako Bull in their quarterfinal match at the Mall of Asia Arena on Saturday.
Despite holding a twice-to-beat advantage for finishing in the top two, the Tropang Texters wasted no time in knocking out the Energy as they raced to an early double digit lead and stretched it to as large as 35 late in the match.
Johnson finished with 35 points and 15 rebounds, while Castro added 18 markers and seven boards. Both players combined for ten three-pointers.
Talk 'n Text will face the winner of the Purefoods-Alaska series in the semifinals.
Purefoods holds a 1-0 lead in the best-of-three affair after downing Alaska by 34 points on Friday night with Game 2 happening on Sunday.
